Tricia Wellings has worked in early years for over 19 years. During that time she has gained her NNEB, BA (Hons) in Early Educations Studies, Early Years Teacher Status and more recently her PTLLS, CTLLS and A1 Assessors award.
Prior to her life in early years she worked in the printing industry in sales and customer service for nearly 10 years. However, her sales skills were learnt across two main industries selling vending machines and selling timeshare, the latter of which she did in Spain when she lived there in her early twenties.
Tricia lives in Warwickshire and has two (now very grown up) girls, 25 and 21, she lives with her highly talented partner Paul. Paul is her IT champion and go-to person when things need sorting. She plans to retire one of these days – well perhaps in 5 or so years. In the meantime she aims to discover and explore new parts of the world.
Tricia Wellings owns five day nurseries called Bright Kids and three years ago she opened her own training company, MBK Training in order to support training her teams. The training side of things has grown rapidly and serves nursery and school customers across the country. Tricia and MBK also undetake Consultancy for businesses.
Working with other early years colleagues the idea of products to support practitioners came about. So last year she was involved in creating Foundation Focus with their first product “Ofsted Preparation: Creating your SEF and more… “, since then they have brought out 6 more useful products which can be viewed in the shop.
Alongside this she supports many things early years. Tricia is one of the PVI representatives on both Worcestershire and Warwickshire Schools Forum. Tricia chairs a local PVI support group called WIPS. In her limited spare time Tricia also sits on the West Midlands Ofsted Big Conversation Steering Group. She is on the committee of the Birmingham PVI Support Association. She is a member of the Warwickshire Early Years Support group.
It’s fair to say Tricia has a passion for all thing early years.
